Gather & Legalize Documents
Apostille or legalize all academic documents and obtain certified Spanish translations.
Submit Online Application
Apply exclusively via universidades.sede.gob.es — enter title details exactly as on your diploma.
ANECA Evaluation
Ministry forwards file to ANECA; they assess academic equivalence and may request additional documents.
Receive Homologation Resolution
Official recognition granted by Ministerio de Ciencia, enabling you to register with the Colegio de Médicos.
Register with Colegio de Médicos
Complete registration with your regional Medical Association to legally begin practicing in Spain.
Requirements
Meet these six regulatory conditions before submitting your homologation application.
At the time of official submission, the Ministry fee (€166.50) must be paid. Our team reviews all your documentation beforehand.
Language
Spanish C1 (DELE C1 or equivalent) — waived if 75%+ of studies completed in Spanish.
MIR (Médico Interno Residente)
Required to access the public health system or practice a specialty — separate from the degree homologation process managed by Ministerio de Ciencia.

Valid Passport or National ID
Issued by your country of origin or Spanish immigration authorities.
Original Medical Degree (Apostilled/Legalized)
Apostilled under the Hague Convention or legalized via diplomatic channels; EU graduates exempt from apostille.
Official Academic Transcript (Apostilled)
Full record of subjects completed, including course load in hours.
Certificate of Professional Good Standing
Issued by the Medical College or competent authority in your country of origin.
University Letter on Degree Duration
Official letter from your university confirming total duration and structure of the degree program.
Proof of Spanish Language Proficiency
DELE C1 certificate or equivalent — not required if degree was taught in Spanish.
Professional Experience Certificate
Mandatory if degree is older than 6 years; must show 3 years of practice in the last 5.
Work and Residence Permit (Non-EU applicants)
Valid Spanish permiso de residencia y trabajo required to practice after homologation is granted.
