How long does homologation in Spain take?+
With Royal Decree 889/2022, the process takes approximately 4-6 months. At Bookahospi we optimize every step to shorten timelines.
Can I work while it is being processed?+
It depends on your immigration status. We advise you on all legal options available so you can start as soon as possible.
Do I need to speak Spanish?+
If your training was in Spanish or you come from a Spanish-speaking country, no language certification is required. Otherwise a B2 level is needed.
How much does a doctor earn in Spain?+
A general practitioner earns €40-60k, while a specialist can earn €60-85k depending on the autonomous community.
What does the homologation price include?+
Our service covers the full management of your homologation from start to finish: file preparation, submission to the Ministry, continuous follow-up, and guidance until your degree is recognized.
Can I take the MIR exam after homologating?+
Yes. Once your degree is homologated you have full access to the MIR residency system to specialize.

General homologations (all professions except medical specialist) may require payment of administrative fees set directly by the Ministry. These amounts are determined by the government, are external to Bookahospi, and may change at any time depending on current regulations.
