Working as an ophthalmologist in Saudi Arabia in 2026: salaries, SCFHS homologation and hospitals hiring

Unlike anesthesia or emergency medicine, ophthalmology in the Saudi private sector is mostly elective. Typical contracts include:

Base 40–45-hour work week, mostly consultation + scheduled elective surgery.

Minimal or no on-calls (except pediatric ophthalmology or 24h ophthalmic emergencies in large centers).
